Fields of Grace helps flood relief
Times Journal, Oct. 5, 2011
Fields of Grace Outreach puts individuals first in its programs and is doing the same with flood relief. The not-for-profit organization has formed the Disaster Relief & Rebuild Fund, "Rooms of Hope."
Vouchers will be given to homeowners who plan to rebuild their homes and stay in Schoharie County for longer than a year.
The initial goal is to provide supplies for 20 to 30 rooms. Though funding is not inexhaustible, more supply vouchers will be made available as funding permits.
Applications not selected in the first round will be considered in following rounds. Qualifying applications will be chosed at ramdon from the pool of eligible entries. Those selected will be contacted regarding their status and when and where the supplies will be distributed.
The vouchers will cover 10 4'x8' sheets of sheetrock, one five-gallon pail of spackle, one five-oound box of sheetrock screws and one 250' roll of sheetrock tape.
Applications are now being accepted for October 15 for the first round, the 30th for the second round, and November 15th for the third round.
All donations will go toward the recovery and rebuilding effort.
